Accommodation in Berwick-upon-Tweed
In the spring of 2007 we bought 11 Bridge Street with the intention of restoring
this beautiful Georgian townhouse and running it as a luxury bed and breakfast.
After many months of hard work and expense, we opened our doors to the public
in December 2007. Our aims are simple, to make our guests as comfortable as we
can and to provide the finest breakfast imaginable using locally sourced organic
ingredients.

The
Granary Guest House played host to the "Angel of the North" Agyness Deyn,
as featured in the August 2008 edition of Vogue magazine. Photographer
Tim Walker and Zoe Wassall of www.greatnorthernlocations.com featured
many locations throughout the town.
And more recently we played host to the beautiful Georgia May Jagger, daughter
of Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger, who featured in Vogue Italia August
2009. A magnificent 16 page spread organized by Zoe Wassall featuring "Retro" fashion
by top designers including Chanel, Emporio Armani, Prada, Gucci & Louis Vuitton.
Shot once again in Berwick-upon-Tweed, all the photographs, taken in black and
white, were by Tim Walker, one of Vogues leading photographers.
Bridge Street is in the oldest part of Berwick-upon-Tweed and boasts many original
Victorian shop fronts along its length. It is considered the trendiest area and
has many restaurants and pubs within easy reach and the river Tweed is just a
stones throw away.

Northumberland and the Scottish Borders
Berwick-upon-Tweed, once part of Scotland and now the most northerly town in England,
has played an important part in the history of this region. This has given Berwick
a unique appeal to visitors like the artist LS Lowry, who painted many a Berwick-upon-Tweed
scene. The Granary Guest House doesn't have any Lowry painting, regrettably,
however there are several scenes of Berwick painted by Pam!
